The son of Baskin-Robbins co-founder Irv Robbins, John Robbins walked away from the ice cream empire to pursue a simpler life. He wrote the 1987 book Diet for a New America, which exposed connections between diet and physical health, as well as animal cruelty and environmental damage. In the book, he advocated for a plant-based diet and discussed his opinions on the meat industry and factory farming. He updated the book in 2001 with The Food Revolution, which also included information on organic food and genetically modified foods.

Now in his 50s, Robbins hires a full-time personal trainer and nutritionist to help him maximize energy levels and maintain muscle mass. Billy Beck III has worked with a slew of clients, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and NFL and NHL players, as well as boxers and UFC fighters. He has developed a simple, protein-rich diet for Robbins that includes his signature adrenaline-support cocktail. It’s a blend of a greens powder mixed with vitamins C and antioxidants, along with capsules of methylated B vitamins and melatonin.

Nutrition Education

Nutrition education focuses on building people’s skills to improve their diets and health. It teaches them to make healthy choices and adopt behaviors that contribute to their own well-being and that of the community they belong to. It is informed by research, theory and practice, with particular attention to cultural and socioeconomic contexts.

Nutrition Education involves a broad range of activities in many different settings, and can include workshops, presentations, field trips, plays, panel discussions, food tasting sessions, planning and evaluating menus, food preparation demonstrations, gardening, physical fitness programs, etc. It also includes the distribution of nutrition education materials. Nutrition education is an important strategy to help reduce nutrition-related problems, ranging from insufficient intake of nutrients to excessive and unbalanced consumption.

People in rural and urban areas need to have the correct information, skills and motivation to obtain and consume adequate dietary supplies. To achieve this goal, nutrition education must be both individualized and systemic. It should include improving household food security, increasing the nutritional value of foods and reducing the consumption of unhealthy foods. It should also provide people with the ability to meet their nutrient requirements by introducing a more varied diet, including food from cultivated plants as well as animal sources.

It is widely recognized that effective nutrition education is needed in schools and the wider community. Teachers need to be empowered to incorporate nutrition education into their classrooms, and they should receive training on how to deliver nutrition lessons in a way that is relevant to students’ learning styles and needs.

Most children get their nutrition information from the media, their parents and their peers. This barrage of information can be overwhelming and contradictory, and it can lead to confused eating behaviours. To overcome these challenges, it is critical that school-based nutrition education is based on scientific evidence and takes into account the diverse needs of students.

The Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior (SNEB) has developed a set of competencies for nutrition educators. These were created in response to a need for nutrition educators who have the skills and knowledge to promote a healthy environment, community and food system.

Nutritional Supplements

In addition to a healthy diet, Robbins Nutrition offers nutritional supplements that help support optimal health and longevity. These supplements can include a variety of vitamins and minerals, amino acids, probiotics, and fatty acids. Our clients have the option of purchasing these supplements from us or using our convenient online store. Our supplements are sourced from reliable and respected manufacturers, many of which are members of USP. This organization sets standards for the identity, strength and purity of dietary supplements and provides verification of these standards through a series of tests.

Robbins grew up in the ice cream business as the son of Baskin-Robbins co-founder Irv Robbins, but left the company to follow his passion for promoting life and health. In 1987, he published Diet for a New America, an expose on the connections between diet, physical health, environmental sustainability, and animal rights.

The book advocates a whole-food, plant-based diet and includes Robbins’ opinions on the meat and dairy industries, world hunger, and human health. He is also an advocate for a sustainable food system, and has founded the Food Revolution Network, which aims to empower individuals and transform the global food supply by encouraging people to vote with their forks.

Robbins has remained active throughout his life, even after suffering from polio, which left him in a wheelchair for a time. He continues to hike, run marathons, and participate in yoga. He believes that a combination of eating a plant-based diet and taking targeted supplements is an effective strategy for achieving long-term health and longevity.

Beck helped Robbins develop an adrenal support cocktail that includes a greens powder shake containing vitamins A and C, antioxidants, and probiotics along with capsules of methylated B vitamins mixed with other nutrients. In addition, he takes nearly a dozen other supplements, including fish oil and melatonin for sleep, a standardized daily dose of omega-3, a daily serving of turmeric powder, ubiquinol and sage extract, and a potent multivitamin/mineral formula. The shake, in particular, helps keep his energy levels high all day. Robbins is an inspiration to all of us at Business Insider and beyond, proving that eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and taking targeted supplements are the keys to a happy and healthy life.

Nutritional Testing

Nutritional testing can help to identify imbalances in your body’s nutrient levels that may be contributing to health conditions. Using specialized blood samples, these tests can reveal your body’s nutrient levels, whether you’re deficient or overloaded. This type of testing is an essential component of a comprehensive nutritional assessment.

Unlike traditional medical tests that measure your chemical composition, nutritional tests can uncover the root cause of symptoms and imbalances in the body. These tests can also reveal food intolerances and allergies, digestive issues, hormone imbalances, and more. By identifying the source of these imbalances, we can provide targeted nutrition supplements to correct them.

When you work with us for a nutritional assessment, we use a combination of methods to provide the most accurate analysis and individualized treatment plan possible. One of the most effective tools is Nutrition Response Testing (NRT). Developed by Freddie Ulan, this method uses a hands-on, non-invasive technique to analyze the body to determine the underlying causes of ill health. Once these causes are addressed through safe, natural, nutritional means, the body can heal itself and achieve a more optimum health state.

We also use a variety of other nutrition-related assessments, including food intolerance testing, digestive track health testing, and morphogenetic field technique. These tools allow us to pinpoint your exact nutrient needs and recommend the best plant-based supplements to address them. By doing this, we can ensure that you are getting exactly what your body needs without the potential for harmful side effects.

In many cases, a nutrient imbalance can be masked by other symptoms or by taking a supplement that is not the right fit for your unique metabolic needs. This can lead to an overdose or underdose of a specific nutrient and result in complications such as food intolerances, poor digestion, weight gain, chronic disease, energy and mood fluctuations, and more. By determining your unique nutrient needs through testing, we can provide the appropriate supplements to restore your body’s balance and improve your overall wellness.

After you receive your personalized nutrition assessment, we will work with you to incorporate the findings into a comprehensive plan that focuses on transforming your health through diet and whole foods. We offer 6, 12 and 24 session packages that can be used over time.
